Add TpT Note Pics & Linkies

Hi there! Lots of things on my agenda today so please forgive the long post. First I am going to show you how to add pictures to your TpT Notes to Followers. Then, I'm linking up to show love with a few blogging buddies.

I hope all of the above made sense. I was going to do a tutorial video. If you'd prefer a video let me know. I will do it if it's a popular request. If you appreciate the tutorial slides above please comment below.

I'd love to hear if anyone appreciates it!

For HOMEWORK!
Last year I struggled to get my 2nd graders reading for homework. I have a HUGE classroom library and each day for the first half of the year I would have them select a book at their level to take home each night. Something in my gut told me they weren't doing what I wanted them to do. I tried everything even a variety of reading logs. But my "Teacher Intuition" told me they weren't following through.

So I started writing stories and attaching Textual Evidence Questions so that the children not only read, but they had to practice restating the question and citing evidence. With text complexity increasing with Common Core I began a mission to create complex text passages that I could use for Close Reading in the classroom and send home as homework to then revisit again for a different purpose. I first made monthly sets which I continue to do then I started the project featured above.

Click the pictures to go directly to the product for more of a looksy and a more a peek to my youtube commercial for it.

It has 60 high interest passages with tdq's, used for Close Reading & Text coding, and homework. Did I mention that it is 40% off until Friday?

Linking up with Tried it Tuesday with Fourth Grade Flipper to get the word out about what I tried yesterday! Getting pictures into TpT Notes to Followers described above. If you appreciate it please let me know by commenting below.

In this book a little girl, Jamaica, finds a stuffed puppy at the park. The ethical dilemma Jamaica undergoes to give the puppy up is inspiring, motivating and teaches the important lesson of HONESTY!

I LOVEEE Daily Five. Last summer I created a bulletin board to focus on the strategies. My small group table was right in front of the bulletin board so kids were able to put stickies with their names next to the strategies they were working on.

This post was a Smorgasbord of craziness!
